Dr. Anse Tamara Gray is the founder of Rabata, an organization dedicated to promoting positive cultural change through creative educational experiences. She is an Islamic scholar and holds multiple ijazas in Islamic sacred texts and subject matters.
Shaykha Dr. Tamara completed her doctorate in the Leadership, Policy and Administration program at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She holds a master’s degree in Curriculum Theory and Instruction, and worked for twenty-five years in the field of education, before moving into the nonprofit world.
Nori Abdullah is a leading advocate for special needs, a cultural warrior and proud mother of three boys. Of Malay, Arabic and Japanese descent, Nori has not known any other life except one of service- her father was the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdullah Badawi and as Khairy Jamaluddin’s wife, she was by his side whilst he served as Minister of Youth & Sports, Minister of Science & Tech and most recently, the Minister of Health.
She is passionate about building bridges and aspires for the world to be truly diverse in acceptance of creed, colour, faith and the spectrum of different abilities. Nori read International Relations at Syracuse University, New York.
Harith is considered to be “the Godfather of Stand-Up Comedy” in Malaysia and previously won the Asia’s Best Stand-Up Comedian Award 2014. Harith’s parents met in the Democratic Republic of Congo during the Congo Crisis where his dad was a member of the peacekeeping corps whilst his Scottish mother was working for the United Nations.
Continuing this diverse legacy, he and Dr Jezamine Lim are parents to 3 children and the family collectively fly the badge of 1 Malaysia. Through comedy, Harith has been able to skilfully deal gently with hard issues.
Sensei Imanul Hakim of Indonesia, an Aikido practitioner and instructor believes that one’s worst enemy is oneself. The best in Aikido is not necessarily the person with physical strength but the one blessed with purity. He believes everything external begins with the heart. The body of one who intends harm is pre-disposed to vulnerability and weakness and conversely, the person who carries the best of intentions is fundamentally strong. Sensei Hakim currently resides and teaches Aikido at his dojo in Jakarta with his wife.
